The department will offer M.Tech Course on Production Engineering. We offer this course from academic year 2009.

It also has a Renewable Energy Club that is financially sponsored by OREDA (Orissa Renewable Energy Development Agency). It regularly organizes workshops/ conferences sponsored by industry and state government.

The department had been a fore runner in respect to designing and instructional modules, development of teaching aids, training for national level competitive examinations, interviews and in facilitating a smooth transit of student into higher education programmes both within India and foreign universities.

Most of the final year project work is structured to improve both the design and fabrication aspects. Analytical projects are also undertaken which make use of ANSYS and FEM packages. Majority of the students passing out of the department are well placed in public and private sector organizations, to name a few: HAL, NTPC, DHL, Bhushan Steel, Jindal Steel etc.
